She was born to Thomas and Alpha Lacock on March 9, 1936, in Hinsdale, MT and lived there until the family moved to Sandpoint, ID in 1949.
Laverne graduated from Sandpoint High School in 1954. From this union, 5 children were born- 3 daughters and 2 sons.

David grew up North of Saco attending several schools in the area. David was president of the Phillips County Stockgrowers, a member of the Saco Lutheran Church, moose and Elks organizations, and served on numerous boards throughout the years.
