Updating oracle table sequence

NEXTVAL); when i run this select statement shows the following: select * from x; id ------- 2 why this insert doesnt start from 1?

Tom, The difference between what fagri posted and what you posted by running the same code is due to deferred_segment_creation.

This would be preferred to dropping and recreating the sequence which would invalidate any dependent objects (such as triggers/stored procedures and so on) Tom: 1. If you run the procedure right now, it'll fail to compile.

NEXTVAL goes below MINVALUE and cannot be instantiated until you set the sequence increment back to 1. If you drop the sequence -- the procedure will go invalid since an object it depends on no longer exists.

x.last_number; 16 17 execute immediate 'select '
